In its fourth edition as well, combined transport will be the leading protagonist of the exhibition. The reason is simple: it is the most sustainable transport system, but also the most efficient and competitive.
This is precisely why Fermerci — the association representing all players in the rail logistics sector — supports the “Save Combined Transport” campaign, which calls for clear political decisions at the European level to ensure stability, capacity, and economic sustainability for the sector.
“Defending combined transport means defending the competitiveness of our country,” says Giuseppe Rizzi, Director General of Fermerci, “because it is the fundamental pillar of modern, efficient, and decarbonized logistics.”
European combined transport is at a crossroads. After the slowdowns caused by infrastructure works linked to the PNRR on the Italian network, a new wave of railway infrastructure works in Germany — expected to last many months — now risks penalizing the sector. We are talking about the Scandinavian–Mediterranean corridor: the planned closures along the German section threaten to disrupt the main commercial artery between Italy and Northern Europe, with serious repercussions for industrial districts. A situation that could also negatively affect the national landscape.
At Green Logistics Expo, operators and institutions will also discuss this scenario and the countermeasures to be adopted, strengthening the systemic collaboration among the various actors of the logistics system — one of the core purposes of this exhibition dedicated to sustainable logistics.
