Green Logistics Expo Visitor Profile
In its 2024 edition, Green Logistics Expo welcomed 8,800 visitors, approximately 85% of whom were from Italy, while 15% came from other European countries, with a marginal share of non-European attendees.
Target Audience and Demographics
The event attracts a very broad and diverse audience. In terms of gender, visitors are still predominantly male, although the female presence is gradually increasing, particularly in the marketing and communications sectors.
The age profile is also extremely varied.
Students and young people in training
The audience includes students from ITS academies — Higher Technical Institutes — linked to logistics-related organisations such as ports, interports and trade associations. These profiles are essential in helping to bridge the skills gap and address the growing difficulty of recruiting qualified personnel. Unlike in the past, when school visits were sometimes met with a certain reluctance, today these visits are welcomed with the utmost attention.
Professionals aged 30–65
This group represents the majority of visitors. The male presence remains predominant, although the marketing departments of companies are seeing a rapidly growing female participation.
The Four Main Visitor Categories
The audience can be divided into four main macro-areas.
Logistics Operators — 40%
Out of a landscape of around 100,000 Italian companies operating in the sector, including related industries, many professionals choose to visit the exhibition even if they are not exhibiting directly. They represent the largest share of the audience.
SMEs and Large-Scale Retail — 35%
This is the second largest group after pure logistics operators. It includes business owners and logistics managers from small and medium-sized enterprises, often export-oriented. Their logistics models typically combine outsourcing with the management of efficient in-house warehouses. This category also includes large-scale retail distribution.
Large Enterprises — 10%
This segment includes logistics managers from major companies with complex distribution networks and supply chains. Visitors in this category are high-level technical and managerial profiles.
Top Managers
Thanks to the quality of its exhibitors, the event has become an essential networking opportunity for senior executives from logistics companies. It is the moment when the various links in the chain — customers and suppliers from different segments — come together to strengthen strategic relationships.
Other Visitor Profiles
The audience also includes institutional representatives and political decision-makers, from local authorities through to government level, as well as the academic world: professors and researchers who provide the sector with the scientific vision and innovation needed to support its safe and sustainable growth.
