Associations at Green Logistics Expo: authoritative and diverse voices of Italian logistics, a key supply chain for the competitiveness of our country

Every community also finds its expression in the associative sphere. Logistics is no exception, and Green Logistics Expo places strong emphasis on this dimension, which is of great importance for the entire sector. The exhibition itself is a privileged—and above all plural—space for dialogue and discussion.

The associative dimension puts social participation and the public interest at its core, moving beyond the logic of individual profit. For this reason, since its very first edition, Green Logistics Expo has been developed together with industry Associations so that the sector can be not only showcased, but also promoted and defended by a set of truly representative and authoritative stakeholders. Each, within its own segment, is able to express a shared strategic vision in support of businesses, the market, and ultimately our national system.

Today, logistics is represented by organisations that play an increasingly essential role in research and policy proposals, helping decision-makers shape choices that go far beyond immediate sector interests. The sector has become a global system in which any intervention on one link of the chain has repercussions on all the others—a reality recently made evident by the case of the €2 tax on parcels coming from outside the EU.

This is why the voices, debates, and proposals of organisations such as Confetra, UIR, Assologistica, Sos Log, and Fermerci—which have animated Green Logistics Expo since its first edition—express the driving force of Italian logistics. This sector moves over €120 billion (2025/2026 data), positioning itself as a structural pillar of our economy. Its contribution to GDP has increased in recent years, exceeding 8%, supported by a sector employing around 720,000 workers across more than 72,000 companies, covering transport, warehousing, and integrated services.

This is why Associations are fundamental to Italian logistics, recently defined as a “supply chain of competitiveness” due to its essential role in the efficiency of exports and of our country’s industrial system.
